How to Protect PHPMyAdmin on Ubuntu and Debian

In this tutorial, I will be showing you how you can protect your PHPMyAdmin installation so it can only be accessed from your IP. You should add the following to the config file located in /etc/apache2/conf.d/phpmyadmin.conf. In this, you should see a link like so

<Directory /usr/share/phpmyadmin>

Under this, if you add the following lines:

order deny,allow
deny from all
allow from localhost
allow from *your ip address*

If you replace the *your ip address* with your own ip then you should just be able to restart your web server to apply these changes. You can do this by typing 

service apache2 restart
