In this tutorial, I will be showing you how you can install CSF to work with cPanel. To do this, you will need to be logged in to your server as root. Once inside, you will need to run the following

rm -fv csf.tgz
wget http://www.configserver.com/free/csf.tgz
tar -xzf csf.tgz
cd csf
sh install.sh

Once you have done this, your installation should be complete. You can also do a check to make sure that you have the required iptables modules installed

perl /usr/local/csf/bin/csftest.pl

Now that everything is installed, you should be able to log in as root in to whm and go to the plugins section. You should see that csf is there. If you click on that, you can go ahead and configure it. You should note that when you install it, it will be in test mode so that you don't have to worry about getting locked out of your server. To disable this, you can go to Firewall Configuration and disable it there.
